Indiana University Strategic Management in Healthcare

Getting Started
Last week we examined the mission, vision, and culture of the organization. This week we move on to examining the internal and external environment in which the organization exists. According to Gurel & Tat (2017), conducting an external analysis of their competitive environment allows organizations to identify potential opportunities and threats for their business future. Meanwhile, internal analyses help them understand the resources and capabilities, which can represent either strengths or weakness.
Upon successful completion of the course material, you will be able to:

Analyze the internal and external environment of the organization.
Integrate virtuous business concepts into the analysis of the organizational environment.
Evidence critical thinking and analysis.
Demonstrate the ability to develop and express ideas in writing.
