The lasts several years have been rich in scientific and technological achievements. Some of them received much attention in the popular media, and probably aroused your curiosity. Here are a few examples: the visit of the New Horizons spacecraft to Pluto and the subsequent discovery of the world beyond Pluto; the discovery of Kepler 452b, an Earth-like planet orbiting an older “cousin” of our Sun; the addition of four new elements to the Periodic Table, and, more recently, the space probe to Jupiter. Your task is to prepare a short report (about 250 words or one typed page) on one such topic that especially interested you. Assume that you are writing for a young (high-school) audience for the purpose of stimulating their interest in science.
